Website Winner
Thanks to all who have participated & congratulations to our winner.
At the assembly last week, we asked a pupil to do the draw, from all the parents/families who have subscribed to both webtext & our email news letter. The response was great, but still along way from what we need to make our communication more efficient.
Anyway the lucky winner of £50 of Games Workshop vouchers was Logan Boyd in P2
Events so far......... Click on the month to read the news:

JULY 2009
You would think that when the school stops that the BPPC stop too, however not the case.....
Bishopton Soccer Camp
BPPC supported & helped arrange the Soccer Camp that took place in the first two weeks of the school holidays.
It was absolutely fantastic - BPPC supplied a tuck shop for the camp to continue our fundraising efforts.
The kids who attended the camp had a great time & the facility at Cornerstone was absolutely perfect.
School Improvements
You may have notice prior to the end of term several areas of the school fence were replaced where they were deemed a health & safety risk. The state of the railing were a concern of numerous parents, and hopefully you can see when we are asked to help with your concerns, we do look seek to help.
We are looking for volunteers to help clean up the railings surrounding the school. We have been in contact with Clean Up Renfrewshire Campaign and we hope to have their assistance in making this possible. We will have a painting picnic in the playground - a family day where we all muck in and pain the fence surrounding the school, starting on Greenock Road and the infant playground for phase 1.
This will enhance the appearance of the school not only for pupils and staff, but for the community also.
ASHY Path Feedback
This is an older item but just to keep you informed - we have had correspondance from our local Councillors that the path was infact owned by the house builders Keanie who built the estate adjacent to the Ashy path. However, the bad news is they are no longer in business, and as such wouldn't be available to pursue for refurbishment of the path. It is hoped there may be transfer of ownership of the path to improve it. We will continue to keep you informed of any progress.

August 2009
Back to school and back to normality after 7 weeks of care free fun......
Parent Help
We have as usual sent out the letters asking for parent/guardian contact information. We always need volunteers to help with the activities that take place throughout the year, from making tea, supervising discos, promoting tickets, helping at bookfayres, christmas fayre etc. We try to avoid always asking the same people, please if you can help in any way let us know.
Future Events
August is a quick time for us - school uniform swap shop just as the school is ready to go back sees us getting back into the swing of things! Always a busy day, based on how much the kids have grown over the summer, or misplacing the school tie.
We are starting to line up the activities for this term 2009/2010, and we have lots on.
September will be our first disco, and we will also have that month the Macmillan Coffee morning.
We encourage you to subscribe to the online newsletters so we can keep you updated .

May 2009
The main even this month was the charity ball, which was another tremendous evening raising ove £2,500 on the night.
We had a wonderful meal, photos taken by Helen McLaughlin from Amici Images, and entertainment from John Gray of G*Star Discos.
The money raised will go directly to our promethean campaign and a substantial donation to CHAS in Balloch.
A huge thanks to all of the local businesses who supported our event, by donating fanastic prizes, from weekends away donated by Bishopton Travel, £150 Make over from Pauline Duffy at Les Cheveux Hair Salon, to helicopter trips to name but a few. The auction items were well received too.
Again, thanks to the local companies who sponsored our tables at the event, with out their generosity the evening wouldn't be possible.
We appreciate what a difficult year this has been with the Credit Crunch occurring, which makes your generosity even more overwhelming.
Feedback from the prize winners - they were delighted with the quality & quantity of prizes available.
Photos will be on line soon.
Thank you to all those who came along and supported this event.
POP Connection
The BPPC members were on hand to help at the event of the year - Pop Connections. It was a great evening of entertainment - photos of which can be found on the school website. Thanks to all those who helped with Tea/Coffee for the crowds.
May Discos
The last disco for the term - thanks to the girls, Mhairi Peden, Fiona Esplin & Angela Wilson who together with Ruth McAlpine, who ensure the discos are organsised & fun and that the tuck shop is well stocked. Also to Mary Cameron who co-ordinates the rota of help.
Without these parents organising the discos for the kids, and with the other parents who come out regularly to help at these events, it wouldn't be possible - so thankyou.

April 2009
Picnic Paradise-
Thanks to David Hazel & David Carey, who took time out over the
Easter holidays to repair some damaged areas within Picnic Paradise.
Thanks to their efforts, the pupils are now able to return & enjoy
Picnic Paradise......all we need now is the weather!!
Bookfayre-
Thanks to those who came along and helped over the two evenings. We
sold around 100 books, and the school received a reward of £40 as a
result, so thanks to all those who supported the Bookfayre.
Family Quiz-
Don McKinlay hosted a great evening, as our quiz master for this event.
Everyone who attended had a great time, and more importantly a great
laugh. The winning team was Team Mouser - consisting of the OReilly
family and friends. They were runaway leaders throughout the quiz.
Possibly the most worrying thing from the evening, is that the majority
of families/ teams played their Joker cards for double points when we
came to the Kids round....... Kids were fantastic and really pulled up
the team scores....
Thanks
to everyone who came along, and well done to the winners. Thanks again
to Don for hosting the evening, and creating the quiz, he put a huge
amount of effort into making this an enjoyable evening for all. Thanks
to the assistants, Tim Burgess & Linda Gillies who scored the team
results.

March 2009
Fairtrade Coffee Afternoon- Members
of the BPPC & parent helpers came along and offered their
assistance to the Primary 7 Fairtrade event. We were on hand purely to
make & serve fairtrade refreshments, and the entertainment was
provided by the pupils. The Primary 7 classes did an excellent job in
raising awareness of Fairtrade and with musical entertainment provided
by the puils. We were happy that you asked for our help, and glad we
could support your event. Looking forward to find out how much they
raised from this event
Promethean Boards - Delighted
to say that the first 3 of the boards purchased by the school on our
behalf with the funds you have raised have now been installed and I am
reliably informed that the kids are delighted with them. I believe
where possible they will be operating in certain classrooms at parent's
evening so you may have an opportunity to see them in action. Thank you
again for your efforts with this fundraising - its not just the kids
now that will benefit but future pupils also.
Financial Year End - This
is the end of our first financial year as a registered charity. We will
be submitting our accounts to audit withithe next couple of weeks and
then once these are signed off and approved we will submit to OSCAR -
charities regulator for Scotland. We will also post this information on
our website and provide details accompanying our monthly newsletter. We
appreciate it may not be of interest to everyone, but we want to ensure
everyone is aware of what we are doing with the money we are raising,
and that you can see how it is spent.
Additonal Funding - We
have been investigating additional means of fundraising & financial
assistance that could benefit the pupils. We are currently working with
Paisley Partnership and seeking their assistance & advice re grant
applications. We have reviewed our constitution and identified areas of
improvement. Jackie, Carolyn & Linda spent time with the
representative to progress this, and our next step is to work through a
funding tool kit which provides help with grant applications, at this
point Mark & John will also be brought in to work through this
process. As anyone who had attempted form filling it can be a bit of a
mine field & so much depends on wording.
Wish
us luck, as we will really try our best to aquire grants & funding
that will benefit the school & community. If anyone has experience
in such areas, please get in touch, we would welcome your input. We
want to prove to parents that we are not just asking for donations from
you, but are actively seeking out alternatives. Will keep you posted of
our progress.

February 2009
Tom Wylie Jewellery -
The BPPC are delighted to inform you that Tom Wylie has very kindly
offered to supply a MacBook towards our fundraising effort for the new
equipment for the school. This is an extremely generous donation, which
is going to benefit pupils & teachers, not only just now but in the
future. We can't thank Tom enough for his support. This again has moved
us even closer to our target of 5 Boards, MacBooks & Video Screen.
A huge thanks to Tom Wylie Jewellery.
February Discos-
Extremely well attended, despite the weather and illness. As ever the
"tuck shop" was in great demand, so many thanks to those who gave of
their time to assist. Graham Brown was on hand for the disco and
completely swamped by requests for the kids who had a great time. The
contact lists are not quite completed, we urge you to send in your
contact details for your children if they are going to attend the
discos.

January 2009
BPPC Web Site-
Creation & development of the BPPC.Org.uk website. Jackie &
Carolyn have been working with Stuart Duffy from 3DC Org to make this
website possible, and Stuart has kindly provided training. In the early
stages but this will be our future.
Promethean Boards -
The BPPC have handed over in excess of £11,500, to Bishopton Primary
school, enabling the purchase of 3 out of the 5 Interactive promethean
boards. This is a phenomenal achievement from all who have attended
events & given their support to our fundraising to make this
possible within such a short space of time. The installation due to
begin in early February. A huge thanks to everyone who has contributed,
and now lets complete this challange by the end of the school year. You
can find out more about Promethean Boards from our links page.
Charity Party Night Launch-
Back by popular demand, we are hosting another fundraising party night.
We launched ticket sales this month and approached business for
donations of raffle/ auction items & table sponsorship, in return
for advertising space on our website. The response so far has been
terrific, many tickets sold immediately.
Further details can be found on the link above.

December 2008
Christmas fayre - Proving
to be as popular as always with more than 300 people attending. The big
attraction is of course Santa, who was queued out, but a huge thanks to
Santa, Chief Elf & Head Fairy who made so many children so happy. A
couple of new ideas also proved popular, Chocolate fountain meant Linda
was nearly as popular as Santa! Thanks to Elaine who ran the team room,
and the catering was a new addition that proved extremely popular
by "& Relax Coffee Shop, Bishopton". As ever the Children's crafts
were in high demand and were very quickly sold out. Thanks to everyone
who took the time to get involved with the set up & running of the
stalls, withour their help this event would not be possible, and thanks
to those who attended raising over £1400.
School Calander-
Always a popular item. Many helped to make this possible, with teachers
co-ordinating the pupils & taking the photos, with the assistance
of some parent helpers on hand to straighten the odd tie etc. Jackie
arranged the photos & designed the calander & arranged
printing. This brought in just ove £250 profit and we are completely
sold out. Thanks to all who made this happen.
Marks & Spencers Bag Pack- Thanks
to Alison, who arranged this great opportunity for fundraising with
Marks & Spencer, Braehead. Thanks to the parents & teachers who
volunteered & kindly gave an hour or so of their time to help at
this bag pack, raising just over £500. A great opportunity & great
addition to our funds.
Christmas Discos- Hugely
popular across all the year groups. The P3,4,5 discos & P6&P7
discos were almost cancelled due to insufficient volunteers to help at
these events, however after a letter stating that the discos were to be
cancelled, a number of parents/guardians came forward at the last
minute to help save the disco. All a bit hectic, however

November 2008
Family Halloween Party -
A great evening thoroughly enjoyed by the 120+ that attended. Everyone
made tremendous efforts with their costumes and some were completely
unrecognisable. The food supplied by Gios Fish & Chip shop was
extremely welcomed, together with Linda's bar, made sure everyone was
well looked after. The success of the event was largely due to our
fabulous entertainment provided by John Gray at G*Star, who
successfully held the attention of 65 kids for the duration of the
evening, with one party game after another and a disco for all towards
the end of the evening. There were two Best dressed families - Yvonne
& Hannah Stirling as Cruella DeVille & dalmation, and the
Millar family as the Incredibles. The best dressed boy & girl
prizes went to Aidan Keown as Robin , and Rachel Towle as Wednesday
from theAddams family. Well done to all and we raised over £300. Can't
wait till next year to do it all again...
Ladies Pamper & Shopping Event- This
was a really great night giving the ladies an opportunity to get
pampered by beauticians, nail technician's & Spray tan's &
massage therapists to be even more glamerous than usual. Several
retailers were also on had to let us indulge in some pre Christmas
retail therapy - Desinger Handbags, Allmarks Sweets, Chocolatz, Ivad,
Pampered Chef, Jody Pope jewellery, Designer Cosmetics, Virgin Vie to
name but a few. Drinks & nibbles on hand, along with a chocolate
fountain, ensured a lovely evening of pampering, shopping & a good
gossip for all, raising in excess of £250
